Gorilla 3PL are a well-known storage, logistics and fulfilment company based in Buckinghamshire. They needed a robust and easy-to-use website solution to help their business grow.
Gorilla 3PL had been using an off-the-shelf WordPress Template that was badly made and extremely hard to use. There was a growing frustration around the fact that the website was not going to be able to grow inline with the company, so the quest was on to find a new solution. Devstars LWDA stepped in with the SBW WordPress Template, delivering the capability of future grown plus expert advise and technical support.
Many companies include an about us page on their website, but the truth is that those pages rarely attract many clicks. As a result, those links take up valuable space within the navigation and distract from what visitors are really there for, which is to find out about products and services.
The home page is the ideal place to include some ‘About Us’ content. Think of the home page as a company overview, highlighting your key products or services, case studies and company information, such as a brief background overview, team profiles and accreditations.
You can even launch your new business venture with one-page website design. The links in the navigation can guide visitors to different sections on your home page, finally leading them to a contact form to drive enquires. Gorilla 3PL used a combination approach.
Although our theme can accommodate many type of content, we do occasionally get asked to create new blocks for particular purposes. In the case of Gorilla 3PL, it was a block that could show statistics / data relating to the services that they offer.
These blocks – often referred to as ‘counters’ – show any number that you input via the CMS, which will animate on the frontend when loaded for the viewer. The numbers can be accompanied by icons, images and text to help bring them to life and give them some meaning.
The good news is that these updates are rolled-out to all theme users as part of the monthly service level agreement, which includes secure hosting and regular security updates.
Although we label our content blocks in such a way as to describe their ideal use case, there’s no reason why they can’t be used for other tasks. One such example is the USP block.
USPs – Unique Selling Points – are often shown on websites as a quick way to communicate why a particular product or service should be trusted. They are usually presented in rows and can include links to other pages for more in-depth explanations.
In the case of Gorilla 3PL, we used the USP block to showcase the family of companies that fall under the Gorilla brand.
A companies service pages are arguably the most important on the website. They should be clearly presented with nice imagery that engages the reader and encourages enquiries.
Our WordPress template system allows site owners to build service pages using any number of the blocks available. Gorilla opted to use the Text & Image block to create a bold landing area at the top of their pages, followed by a simple two-column layout of text and images to help outline the detail of each service page.
The same approach was applied to their case study pages.
What would a website be without a blog? The answer is: Static.
Search engines such as Google love blogs. Why? Because they show that a website is constantly active and therefor worth a look. That’s as long as the blogs are updated regularly enough and contain great content.
Regularly updated blogs that target service & sector-related keywords will help your website attract new users, increasing brand exposure and enquiries. So, wether you opt to call it a Blog, News, Insights or something else, make sure you take advantage of the Posts area in WordPress to publish regular updates.
Gorilla 3PL are relieved to finally have a website that allows them to put their marketing strategy into action. The team have allocated content creators who will be adding new case studies, insights and news articles, all of which will be optimised for search engines.
We look forward to seeing them grow and will continue to support them with our range of digital marketing services.
